City

Welcome to the stunning city of Prague – a place known by many legendary names including the “City of a Hundred Spires,” the “Golden City,” the “Mother of all Cities,” and the, “Heart of Europe.” This magical city is the capital of the Czech Republic, and boasts a population of approximately 1.3 million people making it the 14th largest city in the EU.

Prague's medieval center is a charming blend of cobbled streets, walled courtyards, cathedrals, and towering church spires, all nestled under the watchful eye of the majestic 9th-century castle. However, Prague is more than just a historic city – it is a modern and vibrant metropolis buzzing with energy, music, culture, art, fine dining and special events.

As the political, cultural, and economic hub of Central Europe, Prague has a rich history and boasts a plethora of famous cultural attractions that survived the violence and destruction of the 20th century. There is something magnificent for everyone in Prague - from the iconic Prague Castle and Charles Bridge, to the Old Town Square with its famous astronomical clock, the Jewish Quarter, Petřín Hill and Vyšehrad.

In addition to cultural heritage, Prague is known for being the world's greenest capital and has been recognized by TripAdvisor as the 7th best city in the world to visit.  Prague is home to the Czech Academy of Science, with research centers based at several large hospitals, including the Motol University Hospital. Prague is also a hub for international meetings and events, consistently ranking among the top 15 most popular meeting destinations in the world. In fact, in 2016, more than half a million people visited Prague to attend almost 4,500 events, including the Annual Meeting of the International Monetary Fund and the Prague NATO Summit.

In short, Prague is a city where people meet - a place where history, culture, and innovation come together to create an unforgettable experience.  We cordially welcome you to come see it for yourself.
